8 year-old School boy marries 61-year-old woman because 'dead ancestors told him to tie the knot'

A schoolboy aged only 8 has tied the knot with a 61 year old mother of 5. WHY? The marriage was organized because of directives from their dead ancestors. It was apparently revealed to them that the only way to appease the spirits of their ancestors was for both of them to get married.


The ceremony took place in Tshawane, SA, but both of them did not sign a marriage register which would have made it legally binding before the law. The wedding cost them £1500.

“By doing this we made the ancestors happy. If we hadn’t, something bad would have happened in the family.” The family said the boy was asked to get married before his grand father died and if he had not followed through with his advice, bad things would have happened.
