Armed Guard In School Fires Gun By Accident While Students Are In Class.

The National Rifle Association (NRA) thought armed guards in schools would be the safer option.

Officer Sean McCutcheon was suspended after his pistol accidentally discharged in a New York school. The town, Hudson Valley, began assigning armed police officers to guard schools in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.
There were no staff members or students nearby when the weapon went off, and fortunately, no one was hurt.

Lt. James Janso of the Lloyd police department tells media outlets Officer Sean McCutcheon will be suspended wile an investigation continues.

We're glad this situation ended with no injuries, but what happens next time? Looks like armed guards in schools aren't such a great idea.
