World number one, Serena Williams has retained her US open title after beating world number 2 Victoria Azarenka in a three set epic match. She has now equaled Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer with 17 grand slam title. She won the first set comfortably but gifted the second set to Azarenka after serving twice for the match, she fought hard to keep her nerves down and took the final set comfortably. the match ended 7-5 6-7 6-1. She was presented with a prize money of 3.6million usd. Way to go Serena, wish you more success ahead.
