2 Dead As Hero Security Guard Foils Suicide Bomber's Attempt To Attack Congregation Inside A Mosque In Maiduguri

The spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency,NEMA, Sani Datti has confirmed via their facebook page that 2 people have died after a male suicide bomber attacked a mosque during the early morning prayers in Dalori quarter opposite the University of Maiduguri, Borno State Tuesday morning. 

“There was  a reported case  of explosions at Dalori quarters, Maiduguri, Borno State. Our Search and Rescue officers are already on their way to the scene, detail later,” IIt was the timely intervention of the security guard at the mosque that kept the death toll down. He is being hailed locally as a hero after sacrificing his life by engaging the suicide bomber resulting in both fatalities. A worshipper said a security guard prevented the bomber from gaining access into the mosque.
“When the security guard overpowered the child suicide bomber, he detonated the bomb,”
