As President Buhari heads to London for a 10-day vacation/medical trip for a proposed Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) checkup, the Medical Association of Nigeria has a thing or two to say about this trip.
The General Secretary of the association, Tanko Sununu, said there are competent and qualified ENT consultants and surgeons trains and capable of looking after The President.
"In Nigeria, we have very competent ENT surgeons in the country. We have a lot of competent ENT surgeons throughout the federation," Mr. Sununu said.
He was also quick to point out while giving an interview to news agencies though, that until he gets hold of a medical brief from the President's medical team, he could not fully give and clear picture of what his association could do and not do.
Mr. Sununu had told PREMIUM TIMES early Monday that the NMA was in touch with the president's personal physician to get details, but later spoke again to the newspaper in the evening saying the association was yet to get required details.
President Buhari had earlier passed a law prohibiting government officials from embarking on foreign medical trips except it is a situation that was beyond the control of the Nigeria Medical Association.
