Germany To Deport 12.000 Nigerian Asylum Seekers - ''This Is Strategic Decongestion Nothing Else''

Germany has earmarked 12,000 Nigerian asylum seekers for deportation according to the country’s Global Head of programme, Migration and Development, Dr. Ralf Sanftenberg.

Speaking during his visit to Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Sanftenberg said the German government will likely refuse these asylum applications. He was in Nigeria on an assessment mission for Nigerians who are voluntarily returning to the country. He said,

”We have over 37,000 Nigerians in Germany and more than 12,000 of them are asylum seekers.
“There is a little chance for their applications to be moved and they may be forced to come back to Nigeria next year.”
‘’99 per cent of them were likely to be denied asylum status because Nigeria is not among war countries.’’

He further revealed that if they willingly returned to Nigeria, they would be assisted by the country’s support programme while the alternative was a forceful removal.

This is exactly what is happening around the world, Nigerians have been in these countries for years but as soon as the Syrian crisis started, the need to make room and accept millions of refugees arose and guess which country is always the scape goat? Common-wealth countries.
