News coming from Auchi in Edo State is that some petrol stations are allegedly selling Premium Motor Spirit for N155 a litre, well above the government approved price of N145. This sort of unregulated pump manipulation should be frowned at because what some many see as a simple increase has a damaging ripple effect on the economy of the area. Fares will go up, ordinary household products and foodstuff will be affected and the man going about his business will surely be affected.
Two Auchi residents Philip Ikhalomeh and Isaac Imodu, said:
“The Federal Government needs to intervene immediately to save motorists from further economic difficulties.
“The agencies in charge of price regulation should arrest the dealers who are selling this product above government approved price of N145 per litre.’’
