Out Of The N4.7 Billion He Received From The Arms Funds Obanikoro Returns N30Million

Former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has received praises from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for keeping to a repayment plan after he made a further N30Million payment from his Diamond bank account with a further N417m payment in the offing.

So far, he is alleged to have returned N167m to the Federal Government. Mr Obanikoro is under this repayment plan after he was accused of being the recipient of N4.7bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser under the then leadership of Col. Sambo Dasuki, funds meant to procure arms for our soldiers fighting on many fronts including the fight against Boko-Haram which have turned many Nigerians into Refugees in their own country not to mention the amount of soldiers who made a major complain in 2015 about little or non existent facilities and arms to carry out their sworn duties. Who know how many lost their lives while these Fat-cats stuffed their belly with billions.

Obanikoro had said in his statement under oath after returning from the US where he had gone on exile for 13 months at the EFCC listed how he disbursed the funds. $5.377m and N1.219bn respectively was give to then PDP governorship candidate Mr. Ayodele Fayose, N1.3bn was given to another PDP governorship candidate in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore. N785m was kept for himself, allegedly used in his doomed quest to become governor. An election he lost to Jimi Agbaje .
