Carnage: Ex-Lover Almost wipes out an Etire Family in a Tragic, Cowardly and Senseless Shooting..

Death came to a quiet suburb of Lagos, Igando when a former lover whom the family did not approve of dating their daughter, jumped into the home of the Odias via their fence and carried out the brutal and gruesome shooting of 7 people. In scenes only witnessed in the movies. A crazed gun man visited the homes of Mr and Mrs Ekene Ozor and also Mr and Mrs Odia from Igando Lagos with one thing in his mind, to shoot and kill those that stood in the way of his relationship with Sandra.

One of the surviving member of the family recounts the tragic and horrific events:


Miss Katherine Ijedinma was walking inside the compounds on February 16th when she saw her twin sister's ex lover jumping the fence into their house carrying a big gun. When she approached him asking him what was happening, she was met by a strange question from the attacker ''are you the one who asked your sister (Sandra) not to marry me?'' she said no and the attacker asked her to raise her blouse up because he wanted to shoot her in the abdomen. She fearfully did as she was told and only lived to tell the tale because she jumped as he pulled the trigger. Next she recalled was waking up in the hospital oblivious to the fact that her twin sister, her pregnant elder sister and 2 children belonging to her elder sister are all dead by the hands of the crazed gun man.

He visited the homes of the Odia, Shot Katherine and her twin sister Sandra, and then visited the home of the Uzors killing their elder sister and children. Mr Uzor recounts how he was told of the last minutes of his wife's life, she ran for her life but the gun man ran after her fatally shooting her not once but 3 times before turning the gun on another of their elder sisters.

The gun man who hails from Warri Delta State and is still at large is said to have called the surviving Katherine taunting her about the whole event. He is thought to have fatally shot:

Pregnant Mrs Ngozi Odia (Elder sister of his supposed girlfriend)
Her 3 children ( Angela 12, Chidinma 10 and Chinyere 8) and another of their elder sisters.

Three year old Victory and Bethel also survived.
