Just Curious: Pour In Your Thoughts Please. (Petrol Pumps, Health Hazard or Not)

I have always wondered, some petrol stations have been in business for decades using a particular set of pumps to sell petroleum product, DO THEY EVER GET TO CLEAN THE NOZZLES?

In England, i see people waiting patiently, wearing disposable hand gloves or using tissue paper to cover the nozzle before filling up. Do they ever clean the pumps? Do they realize its being handled by millions of people per week?

In Africa also, i have seen owners of petrol stations appointing a staff member to clean around the pump but do they actually clean the nozzle handle? Are we at risk or putting ourselves and families in danger by mere filling our vehicles up?
Can you imagine what people do with their hands before touching that pump head? How many people do you think handles that pump before it gets to your turn? Just wondering, what do you think?
