Police in South Africa have told the family of Reeva Steenkamp that Oscar Pistorius crushed her head with a cricket bat before shooting her 4 times. They even showed the family proof in the Post Mortem results and pictures to back their claim. This comes after a backlash from relatives who saw her battered head and entry wounds from the bullet before her body was cremated.
In a sworn affidavit read to the bail hearing in Pretoria magistrates’ court last week, Pistorius claimed that he used the bat to break down the toilet door after the shooting, saying he had not realized his girlfriend was in the bathroom.
The bloodstained bat, which is currently being examined by a police forensics team, will be key evidence when Pistorius goes on trial for premeditated murder.
