Beyonce: "I Am A Modern-Day Feminist".

Who run the world? Girls! Beyonce is definitely a modern-day feminist in control of her own destiny - think Super Bowl 2013, think self-directed documentary, think amazingly successful music career. More after the cut.

And now Queen B has redefined feminism for the 21st century, explaining that women can be fearless, bold and in control of their lives - without sacrificing the aspects of womanhood they love the most.

"I guess I am a modern-day feminist. I do believe in equality."

"[But] Why do you have to choose what type of woman you are? Why do you have to label yourself anything? I’m just a woman and I love being a woman."

She went on to admit that women should continue to fight for total equality but she also feels that the battle has been "pushed aside and something that we have been conditioned to accept".
But, for all those who believe feminism means focusing entirely on your career and pushing yourself professionally, it's time to think again; Beyonce has redefined the term so that it can suit anyone.

"I'm happily married. I love my husband. I feel like Mrs Carter is who I am, but more bold and more fearless than I've ever been.

"It comes from knowing my purpose and really meeting myself once I saw my child. I was like, 'OK, this is what you were born to do'. The purpose of my body became completely different."

In short, feminism (for Beyonce) is about having the passion to push yourself and achieve your dreams - whatever those dreams may be.

Do you agree with Mrs Carter?

  1. I don't agree with her, she pretends like a strong and powerful woman, yet she faked her pregnancy. She's not the one to listen to.

  3. Which documentary? That film? She was acting all along. She's very fake. Just another fortunate chic.
