Our future prince has been christened at St James's Palace today as the world was given only its second public glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's young son.
Outside St James's Palace enthusiastic crowds gathered to see the heir the throne, who was carried by his beaming mother and father on what had clearly been a joyful occasion. The three-month-old prince, wearing a long christening robe, joined the handful of relatives attending his baptism, which was described as an 'intimate family affair'.
Only five senior royals, the Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry saw the heir to the throne baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev Justin Welby, in the little known Chapel Royal this afternoon.
