TSA Fail: 9-Year-Old Boy Able To Fly From Minneapolis To Las Vegas Without A Ticket.

In mind-boggling news, a 9-year-old boy was able to do the unthinkable at the end of last week. The kid was able to go through security at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and board a plane to Las Vegas without being stopped or questioned.

The kid went through check-in and security on Thursday morning at 10:30 and then boarded a Delta flight to Las Vegas at 11:15 a.m. without being stopped. On the flight, someone finally noticed there was something odd about the boy, especially since he didn’t have a ticket with an assigned seat, so they called police in Vegas. Authorities met the crew upon landing, apprehended the young man and placed him with child protection services.

A day before the incident happened, the 9-year-old was also seen by security cameras in the airport taking someone’s bag from a baggage claim carousel and then taking it to a restaurant outside security checkpoints. The child ordered food, then told a server he had to use the bathroom. Of course, he left the bag he swiped to pretend he wasn’t dining and dashing since it didn’t belong to him, and he ditched the restaurant without paying. Seems like he was trying to see how much he could get away with in the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and clearly he could get away with quite a lot. That has put TSA in the airport in the hot seat, as authorities try and figure out how a 9-year-old could get through security and jump on a flight without a ticket with no one thinking anything of it. A TSA spokesperson blamed such an accident on low staffing due to the government shutdown and furloughed employees when speaking with WCCO-TV, but says they’ll still look into what went wrong. ”We’re investigating … and looking into our part to see what occurred and what didn’t occur.”

The child was supposed to be sent back to Minneapolis on Sunday, but according to CBS, it’s unclear whether or not that has been done. But when he does finally return, his parents need to have a good talk with him and get themselves in check, because the fact that he’s been able to move about to the airport and even to another STATE without them knowing is ridiculous.
