Akolade Arowolo Sentenced to Death by Hanging for Killing His Banker Wife

Remember him? Akolade Arowolo fought back tears as he was being sentenced after being found guilty for the 2011 24th of June killing of his banker wife Titilayo. A claim which he denied through the trial.

Titilayo was stabbed to death by her husband on his birthday after they had a little argument. He was found guilty on a one-count charge of murder few hours ago in an Ikeja High court and has been sentenced to death by hanging. Arowolo till now and his lawyers denied he ever stabbed his wife to death, but accepted she fell on a knife after they had an argument in their 2-bedroom apartment in Lagos. The head of the Department of Pathology, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital also proved in court that 76 stabs wound were found on her body, and it couldn’t have been just an accident. As at then, they had a 2-year old daughter together, who is 4 years old now.
