Nigerian New License Can Now Be Used in Europe and US.

According to the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, the upgraded Nigerian driver’s license is recognized in three states the U.S. and Europe provided they can verify it is genuine.

The Lagos Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Chidi Nkwonta, in Lagos said that three states in the U.S. and seven countries in Europe accepted the license in Maryland, Washington DC and California in the U.S. as well as Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Austria and Sweden in Europe.

“Maryland accepts Nigerian driver’s license provided it verifies that it is genuine; Washington accepts Nigerian driver’s license, and California too.

“We have seven countries already in Europe that accept our driver’s license, and we are working on other countries in Europe, “ Nkwonta said.

This is a very positive step because it will stop all the nonsense of 1 year international license. In Europe and America, people from Turkey, China and many more countries could drive a car from the word go but Nigerians have to go through the trouble of international license and insurance being on the high as a result. So this new Nigerian License would definitely sort the problem.
