A few days ago, Gumsu Abacha posted what she thought was an harmless tweet : “If insurgency lasts for more than 24 hrs, the government has a hand in it” – Late General Sani Abacha
— Gumsu Sani Abacha (@G_sparking) May 8, 2014 which she has since deleted from her twitter page. From the tweet, it is clear she is quoting her father but what she didn't realise is quoting someone especially your father can be perceived as being in agreement.
Now, trust social media, the tweet spread like wild fire and she is finding it hard to stomach the backlash she has received after the seemingly harmless tweet. She has let rip, throwing everything including the kitchen sink at anyone who blogged the story :
“You are all cheapskates looking for news to sell. Abacha name sweet pass honey????” “Please I did not say FG has a hand in any abduction nor did I point a direct finger.” “I only “quoted” my last tweet which aren’t my words. So why take it further? Why blog me?” "kindly put down your blog. Do not involve me in your meli-melo. Thank you!"
"inhabe told you i did not nor am i accusing the FGN of any wrong doing. You are just pure evil" She made a threatening remark in one tweet: "you are pure evil just like your sister, witch hunting has "it's" day. Watch out!!!" and a very strong tweet in another: "please delete it. Or kindly unfollow me. Thank you"
Gumsu, who describes herself as a “loving wife and mum” and says she loves “Allah and my family” in her twitter profile, currently lives with her husband in Cameroon and they have five children, three boys and two girls. In 1999, she married Mohamadou Bayero Fadil in Garoua Northern Province of Cameroon and has been living in the country since then. Fadil is Chief Executive Officer of Fadil Group and also the Board Chairman of the Cameroon Standards & Quality Agency (ANOR).
