President Jonathan Signs 2014 Budget

Well, if you understansd all the figures and fiscal analysis, this news is definately for you. Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has signed the 2014 Budget. The president formally handed over the 2014 Budget to the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and the Director, Budget Office, Dr. Bright Okogu, for implementation.

The President actually sign it 2 days ago but because of the absence of the Finanace Minister Mrs Okonjo-Iweala, it was delayed till today to be handed over to her while the President left Abuja for Pretoria, South Africa where he will take part in a high profile discussions with other African Heads of State on combating terrorism in Africa as well as the inauguration of President Jacob Zuma for his second term.

In the budget: The Federal Government proposed a budget of N4.495tn for the 2014 fiscal year that will be predicated on an oil revenue benchmark of $74 per barrel.
