What is Going On In USA ? News Pouring Out From There About Cops Isn't Encouraging

First, it was Mr Zimmerman, a wannabe cop who shot a defenceless young teen just for looking suspicious, one would have thought racial profiling would calm down after that, but just read on:

None could have imagined that behind the closed blinds of one neat single storey home in this small community, the Ku Klux Klan was inducting eight new members – or that three present that night in 2009 worked for Fruitland Park Police Department, Florida. Today, five years on, the events of that night are at the heart of a scandal that has so far seen two FPPD officers quit and one fired for alleged KKK links.

In the past ten days officer George Hunnewell, 41, has been fired and Deputy Chief David Borst, 49, has resigned over suspected links to the KKK.

On Thursday, Eric Garner, a Staten Island father of six, was killed as at least five New York Police Department officers attempted to arrest him. The asthmatic 400-pound man died of cardiac arrest after being put in a strong chokehold. In the video above of the incident, you can hear Garner saying repeatedly “I can’t breathe.” Police say they saw Garner selling untaxed cigarettes, a crime he reportedly had history of committing, when they attempted to arrest him.

However, in the news report below, a number of witnesses say Garner was on the scene breaking up a fight when police singled him out. His family also said he did not have any cigarettes on him at the time of the attempted arrest. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on Friday tweeted his condolences to the family of Garner. The NYPD has launched an investigation of the incident.

A New York City police officer has been assigned to desk duty following an incident of alleged police brutality.

Officer Joel Edouard handed in his gun and badge as part of his modified desk duty assignment, spokesman Sgt. Officers on modified desk duty are 'assigned to non-enforcement' responsibilities, Nieves said. A cell phone video shared with local New York media allegedly shows Edouard, 36, violently stomping on the face of Jahmiel Cuffee in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. WPIX reported that Cuffee was stopped by police officers on Tuesday because he was allegedly carrying marijuana. Edouard allegedly stomps on Cuffee's head as bystanders are heard screaming in the taped incident.

Fellow officers are seen looking up at Edouard. 'What is wrong with this officer?' a male voice is heard saying. Gary Dormer, who filmed the video, told WPIX 'He abruptly stomped on top of the gentleman's head. He lifted his foot with excessive force and came down like he was stepping on an ant or roach or something at the time.'
