Now that word has hit the Web that Nicki Minaj’s (now-ex?) boyfriend Safaree Samuels got a tattooed portrait of the rapstress covered up, alleged details about their split have surfaced. According to TMZ, jealousy was the culprit behind Onika’s supposed new single status.

A source tells the website that Nicki was the one who ended her 14-year relationship with Samuels after he became innately jealous of her success. Reportedly dissatisfied with being her hypeman, Samuels became hostile towards the chart-topping Young Money first lady. The site also reports that Samuels was a no-show for a performance, leaving Nicki to fend without a hypeman, calling this the “final straw.”

Nicki Minaj nor Samuels have commented on the rumors surrounding their split.
