Beck’s album “Morning Phase” was the surprise winner at the Sunday show when West rudely declared Beck “should have given his award to Beyoncé.” But thanks to the ensuing controversy, Beck’s album shot to No. 1 on iTunes ahead of Sam Smith and Taylor Swift and Spotify said the number of streams for “Morning Phase” was up a whopping 2,169 percent by Monday evening. Beck’s entire catalog spiked on Spotify by 1,246 percent.
While Beck took Kanye’s comments in stride saying, “I still love him and think he’s genius,” Garbage singer Shirley Manson told West online: “You are making yourself look like a complete tw - t.”
Awww Kanye, I wish Beyonce would love you the same.
I didnt know who Taylor really was until Kanye did that to her. So well done mad man, you have done a good thing for Becks.
