Super Model Gisele Bundchen announces retirement from 20 years of Modelling with a throwback pic.

The 34-year-old posted a snap on Instagram to announce her retirement, a throwback of when she started modelling at the age of 14.

She told her Instagram followers: ‘Today after 20 years in the industry it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business. #firstrunway #14yearsold’
Her last show was at Brazil Fashion Week, where her fellow models donned t-shirts adorned with her face in homage to the model.

The model told Brazilian paper Folha de São Paulo that her body told her it was time to give up the catwalk, and that ‘it’s a privilege to be able to stop.’
But Gisele isn’t retiring completely. She still has her fingers in a lot of pies within the industry, including fashion lines and various other projects.

She has been the highest paid model in the world since 2004 having started her career in 1995.

Fans on the picture sharing site called it ‘the end of an era’. Another said: ‘you are the last and the best’, the last being that since Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer retired, Gisele has held the supermodel crown by herself.

Her husband, NFL star Tom Brady, is said to be really supportive of her decision and was there while she walked her final show. Gisele plans to spend more time with her family following her retirement.
