Ok.....It Seems the Indonesian death sentence for drug traffickers is only binding on International offenders. Few weeks after 4 Nigerians were sentenced to death by the Indonesian government for drug trafficking, Indonesian police have arrested an officer for trafficking more than 350grams of methamphetamine on the prison island of Nusakambangan. But instead of death sentence, the police plan to charge the officer identified as Bayu Anggit Permana with drug dealing, which carries a sentence of 12 to 20 years, according to reports.
Permanu reportedly told investigators he was given the drugs by inmate at Batu Penitentiary, one of several prisons on Nuskambangan. Cilacap Police chief, Ulung Sampurna Jaya said the man was caught on his way to Nusakambangan.
'Officers arrested him at Wijayapura Port following a month-long investigation that we launched after receiving a tip,' Ulung said.
So others get death and their own get prison sentence.
