Two Sisters Arrested For Kidnapping Three Children In Lagos State.

Two blood sisters have been arrested by the Ebute Meta Police Division of the a Lagos State Police Command, for allegedly kidnapping three children from their school in the area.
The two sisters, identified as Eno and Grace, were on Monday, September 7, arrested following a tip off when the police were able to intercept them as they attempted to escape with the abducted kids.

The three kids were rescued while the culprits whose names the police refused to give as investigations were ongoing, were taken to their station for further investigations and interrogation.
The bubble burst for the alleged kidnappers after they had roused the suspicion of other passengers in a Bus Rapid Transport (BRT), when they could not appease the cries of the youngest of the kids.

Aged about four-months-old, the infant had cried furiously without abating, prompting the other passengers to intervene.
Although she was asked to at least breast feed or cajole the baby, she refused, thus arousing the suspicion of the passengers.

The passengers then proceeded to ask the eldest of the kids, whose name was given as Happiness Effiong, the relationship between and the woman and the kid replied they were being taken away from their home at the Airforce base in Ikeja.

Immediately the bus got to the bus stop at Iddo in the Oyinbgo area, the passengers notified the police, who after some preliminary questions, arrested the woman and her sister.

At the police station, the suspect said the kids could not recognise her because she was just released after having spent two years in detention.

She reportedly said:

"I was arrested by the environmental Taskforce two years ago and I was locked up. I just came out and that is why my children could not recognise me.

Happiness was just two years when I was arrested. I did not kidnap them. They are my kids."

However, the police poked holes in her testimony when she gave different locations where she picked up the kids from.

First she had claimed she picked them up from Iyana-Oba, later she said it was from Ikorodu but once again changed her claims to Igando.

However, the four-year-old had repeatedly debunked claims by the eldest of the suspects, Eno, that she was their mother, rather she said her parents lived in an Air Force base.
