Tensions grow in Benue over assassination of APC youth leader.

 According to reports,There is currently tension in Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State, following the gruesome murder of the youth leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Tse-Tia village.

Some angry youths from the area blocked the Makurdi-Gboko Federal Highway, demanding justice for the murdered youth.The youths, who were believed to be natives of Wannune and its environs, barricaded the highway, directly in front of Government Secondary School, Wannune for hours.

According to the enraged youths, the young man who was killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen, with his body burnt, was not just one of their own but their leader.
The protesters who were seen setting tires and grasses ablaze vowed not to leave the road until the perpetrators were brought to book.

It took some policemen drafted from Gboko division to calm the irate protesters.The Benue State Police PRO, Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident, said the police were on the situation.
