Abductors of reverend Father collect N2M ransom and refuse to release Father Adeyi one month after.

After collecting N2m ransom from the family of the kidnappers have refused to release him.
The Otukpa-born Catholic Priest, who recently celebrated his silver jubilee in the Priesthood, was abducted in April, ‎along Odoba Otukpa-Okwungaga road.

He was on his way to Otukpa, the headquarters of Ogbadibo LGA to settle an issue when the gunmen whisked him away to an unknown destination.
It was gathered that the kidnappers had demanded for N30m ransom from the family before they could release him but after much negotiations, they agreed to collect N2m.
A family source hinted that the Catholic community in Idomaland, led by Bishop Michael Apochi had told the family that the church would not be party of ransom, adding that all they could offer was prayers.

“They ran around and got N2m. The money was paid few days after his abduction and the family was told to go to Ankpa junction and pick their brother but he was not there when they got there,” an insider said.

The source, who would not want his name in print said the father’s phone, which they were using to communicate with the kidnappers had been switched off, adding that they had not contacted the family since the ransom was paid.
