A firefighter, Martin Agbili who works with the Anambra Fire Service shared very graphic photo of a new born baby boy who he rescued after his mother threw him into a pit latrine in Nibo, Awka South LGA of Anambra State. Unfortunately the baby died. The said incident happened like 16-years ago.
See what he wrote below + another photo after the cut.
Fire Service duties is beyond fighting fire. It also involves rescue services. I was going through my past records and I saw this picture.
SUNDAY 3rd, July 2016, marked 16 years (Monday, 3rd July, 2000), when I rescued a newly born baby boy from a pit latrine at Nibo, Awka South LGA of Anambra State. She was thrown inside there by her mother because he was born out of wedlock.
It was the biggest risk I have ever taken while working as a Firefighter (as a young firefighter) with just 3 years experience in the job.
Although the baby died but I thanked God that I survived in that rescue operation. I still want remember all my crew members then especially SFS Ikechukwu Okeke (Late).
