A Florida teen is accused of killing his grandmother during an argument over beer.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tells local news that 18-year-old Dylan Brougham was initially charged with aggravated battery, but a murder charge was added after 69-year-old Joyce Ann Courson died.
According to reports, the argument started after Courson hid her grandson's beer while he was showering.
A witness said, "She took the beer and he just flipped out and I guess she wouldn’t tell him where she put it, so he started punching holes in the wall, then destroying the house pretty much and then blaming her." Once the woman arrived at the hospital, she told police her grandson shoved her to the ground, punched her in the face and kicked her repeatedly. She died a week later.
According to family members, Broughman does not have a criminal history but he struggles with controlling his anger.
The teen's mother said, "Even though he was drinking the day of the incident, he has some severe anger issues but it rarely comes out but when it comes, it just comes." The teen told police that when he gets mad, "he blacks out in rage and does not remember what he does."
