President Obama said on Friday that he has deployed 100 American troops to the Nation of Niger, their duty: To set up base for unarmed drones to conduct surveillance.
Obama announced the deployment in a letter to Congress, saying that the forces 'will provide support for intelligence collection and will also facilitate intelligence sharing with French forces conducting operations in Mali, and with other partners in the region.'
The drones are known to always veer into neighboring countries and with Nigeria bordering Niger to the south, i am very sure the Nigerian Government are just too happy to allow anything, well, at least there can be instant eye in the sky as soon as Boko-haram hits, lets hope it remains unarmed.
There has been outcry even in America over the use of armed drones which have a very high civilian fatality rate. We do not want that in Nigeria, the language is collateral damage when it happens.
I hope nigerias will let it happen
