Latest reports say the former FCT Minister, Mallam Nasir el Rufai has been allowed to go home by Nigeria's secret Police. The State Security Service on Monday detained the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory who is the interim Deputy Publicity Secretary of the opposition All Progressives Congress, at its headquarters in Abuja. He is said to have been issued an arrest warrant against him for making “an inciting statement.”
According to reports, Mallam El-Rufai was released in the early hours of Tuesday morning after about 15 hours in SSS custody, allegedly with no further action.
