Doctors still trying to bring Joan Rivers out of Medical Coma.See tweets from fans & colleagues.

Comedian Joan Rivers, who went into cardiac arrest at a doctor's office, was being brought out of her medically induced coma, the New York Daily News reported Sunday night.

Rivers was placed in the coma at Mount Sinai Hospital after going into cardiac arrest during an endoscopy at a clinic. She is said to have stopped breathing during the routine procedure on her vocal cords.

"The waking-up process has begun and will take until Tuesday," a source close to the family told the News, adding that there are concerns that the incident might leave Rivers confined to a wheelchair.

"We are keeping our fingers crossed," her daughter, Melissa Rivers, said earlier Sunday in a statement, thanking people who have expressed support for the 81-year-old comedian. Rivers on Friday described her mother's condition as serious.
