EFCC arrests Ex-Governor Sule Lamido, two sons.

Two years after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested the sons of Sule Lamido, the immediate past governor of Jigawa state, over allegations of money laundering, the commission has re-arrested the duo as well as the ex-governor. Aminu and Mustapha, sons of the ex-governor, were arrested in Abuja on Tuesday and have been flown to Kano, where they are due to be arraigned in court soon.

The EFCC is alleging that Lamido connived with his sons to siphon billions of naira belonging to the state government, and that monies belonging to Jigawa state were diverted to companies where the governor and his sons had stakes.
Lamido governed Jigawa for eight years between May 2007 and May 2015.
