''All Your Arrears Will be Paid'' Edo State Governor Obaseki Vows To Clear All Inherited LGA Salary Arrears From Oshomole's Era

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki has promised to resolve the dispute over salary arrears owed to local government employees from the previous administration. He told the Executive members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), who paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House and assured them of his readiness to address this bitter issue. 

Addressing the delegation, Governor Obaseki expressed sympathy over unpaid salaries to council workers and assured them of the state government’s decision to take urgent constitutional measures to review issues of staffing and liabilities, which have adversely affected the management of council funds.

He also assured the union of his administration’s desire to engage in dialogue with council authorities and other relevant stakeholders to address all industrial issues relating to staff emoluments noting his intention to stop sustaining local government councils with bailout.
