Unknown gunmen have attacked Zankan village in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna state, killing one person and injuring five others. The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Aliyu Usman confirmed the attack.
He said that one person was killed and five others injured in the attack.
“The dead and the injured persons have been taken to the nearest medical centre in Ganawuri town, Plateau State,” Usman said. He, however, said that investigation into the incident had commenced.
“We are trailing the suspects behind the attack, but so far, no arrest has been made.
“We are, however, optimistic that the additional police operatives deployed in the area will fish out the culprits very soon,” he said. “we will not allow lawlessness to thrive.”
Deputy Chief Imam in Jema’a Emirate Council, Mohammed Kabiru disclosed that the gunmen attacked the village at about 9PM. The attack comes barely three days after Fulanis and natives of Southern Kaduna reached an accord to end the killings in the area.
Politicians will say anything to get elected. People in Kaduna and Nigeria in general are all afraid of news about these killings.
