How The EFCC Recovered $9,772,800 And £74,000 From A Bunker Belonging To Dr. Andrew Yakubu Former DG Of NNPC

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission has revealed how a special mission conducted on the 3rd February, 2017 on a building belonging to a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Andrew Yakubu in Kaduna yielded the recovery of a staggering sum of $9,772,800 (Nine Million, Seven Hundred and Seven Two Thousand, Eight Hundred United States Dollars) and another sum of £74,000 (Seventy Four Thousand Pound Sterling) cash.
The huge cash was hidden in a fire proof safe.

The intelligence lead operation on a seemingly normal building left jaws dropped at the vast amount of cash recovered. The EFCC operatives met the younger brother of Dr Yakubu on entry who confirmed the buildings belonged to his brother. It comes as NLC chairman urged the government to ‘’cut the hands off of’’ guilty looters.
