The Nigerian Police Force on Monday said it has arrested the officer caught on camera demanding bribe from 3 road users after being heard saying "Arrange dollars. Give us dollars".
The officer identified as Aniyem Chiyem, a Corporal with service number: F/No. 374171, was attached to Isheri Division, Lagos State Police Command.
The video, which was leaked on social media including you-tube, showed Mr. Chiyem demanding money in dollars from a Nigerian-American and his two friends. Mr. Chiyem had apparently detained them for an alleged traffic related offence.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, in a statement said :
''Mr. Chiyem’s arrest was sequel to a marching order by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, to ensure prompt arrest and investigation of the matter. Mr. Chiyem, who is currently in police custody, will undergo Orderly Room trials and if found guilty would face appropriate disciplinary actions''
The spokesperson also said that the IGP had commended the unidentified whistleblower for his efforts in exposing what would have been a hidden crime.
